know Pete from working together on Greenpeace ships. I suspect John Castle is out there with him too. A couple of more formidable Yachties the world is yer to see.
Love and strength to you all. Joe
We just met pete and john at the pss-shipyard in Thailand, where they get SY.Musichana ready for the trip to the Chagos.
We wish them good luck for the trip and for the project. We deeply understand their engagement for the chagos peoples because we fight for the rights of the Urak Lawoi on Lipe island, Thailand.

I'm just an ordinary bloke who spends his time mucking about with wood. I get on the water when I can in a 16 foot tosher.
Check out Tom's website here: Devon Oak.
Mooring in Portsmouth harbour, UK and live nearby.
Good luck Sam, Pete and the other crew members, from the crew of Tiama.
You're doing a great job.
Fair winds. henk
Currently heading for retirement and the liveaboard life on Snowball my prout 37 cat.
The plight of the Chagos islanders (British citizens) forced to live in exile in places like Crawley is a disgrace to our modern democracy and record of human rights. I wish Sam well on his voyage and applaud his resolve.
I saw the presentation in Marmaris a couple of weeks ago and was touched by the islanders sadness and disgusted by the cynisism displayed in documents and by certain officials. Best of luck Sam! No man is an island.
I am now back in my home town of Melbourne, Australia, after a six year voyage on my yacht "Rozinante" from New Zealand to Greece.
"Rozinante" is now on the hard in Preveza awaiting a new voyager and it is there that I met one of the most beautiful people in the World, POPPY. Poppy, the people she is sailing with and the people of Chagos have my love and support and deserve the love and support of us all.
We are all one and the same and their world is our world.
We are all guilty of 'Standing on our Soap Boxes' over the odd Ouzo and putting injustices in our world to rights!! There are, however, very few that actually carry THEIR and OUR convictions forward. It is a privilage to be associated with such a JUST cause and courageus people who put us all to shame. Our fullest support to you all. Donna and Trevor
Located on the River Thames but would like to be elsewhere. Good luck.
Best wishes to Sam and Poppy on their passage to the Indian Ocean - a very worthy cause that I have veen aware of for many years. As many of us feel powerless under our British democracy as our elected representatives rarely listen, I think this is an excellent mechanism to get another injustice under the spotlight.
Puddleduck is wintering in Koilada, Greece, approx 20 mn SE of Navplion, whilst I'll enjoy my other passion, skiing.
Our shame of the British Government's actions is only matched by our pride of the sailing community and those prepared to do something to show up this terrible injustice and embarrass the government into action.

Moored in Lavender Bay, Sydney Australia. We have a motor vessel with chutzpah built sometime in the sixties and used as a river boat for deliveries. We knew Sam ten years ago when he was building his little boat "Trim' at a boatyard in Balmain. We grew to love him and then he vanished from our lives. We feared he had perished at sea. Good Luck Sam. Our thoughts and affection go with you and let us know if we can help.
Good Luck to all of You. Although we are now landlubbers living on the lovely island of Sardinia, our hearts are still with the sea. We actually met Poppy this year when she called in to Carloforte and it is no surprise that she decided to join you in your endeavours. Once again good luck. We will be following your journey with great interest. Lynda and Tony XX
We have a small motor cruiser based in Denia, Costa Blanca, Spain. We support your endeavours.
We must stand up and be counted. Only wish I had the guts to actually join you!
Good luck with your endeavours. Lets make our voices heard.
Thanks to Poppy who told me about the Peoples Navy. I wholeheartedly support this journey. To me the Chagossians symbolically represent all of humanity being dispossessed of it's liberty and dignity by a handful of greedy, blood thirsty, compassionless 'people' (for want of a better word) whose goal is to create extreme suffering and mayhem in order to bring about a world government in which the freedom of the people will be non-existant. My boat, Bouboulina, is named after a Greek female sea captain and freedom fighter who helped bring freedom and national dignity to her people after 400 yrs of Turkish occupation.
Right now I'm 'doing time' in Kalamata, running a marine paint supply shop, repairing sails and fabricating canvaswork. I wish much success and send much love to the literal peoples navy, may I one day join you. xxx
We are in Marmaris YM for the winter and missed the showing of "Stealing a Nation". We have seen the info on the web however, and feel ashamed to be British.Good luck, Sam and Pete! Go and rattle a few cages. We'll do what we can to rattle the British end.
Hi there Jon, Pete, and Sam. I knew a little of your intentions and of course my little peace boat would love to join your Peoples (peace) Navy.
If I could find a sailing companion I would actually join you in my Hurley 22, at the moment, down here in Penzance, CORNWALL GB. Like Roy (listed below) I was also involved in Operation Namibia and have for a long time been very concerned about the Chagossians situation. Many good wishes for this wonderful initiative. Life, love, peace and freedom.
Sam, have a big heart. Just go for it!
Piper's Dream is wintering in Marmaris but Chris & Jean Fagg are at home in Cornwall for the winter. We met Sam in Oct and heard all about the plight of the Chargos Islanders. Sam was very helpfull in adverse conditions, a Samaritan at heart. I wish him and his father well. I hope we will remain in contact.
After watching the presentation in Marmaris I felt this was a cause I could relate to. I will follow your progress with interest and may even follow you next year. Good luck and fair winds Sam.
In Kemer Marina for winter 2007-8. Saw the presentation in Marmaris Yacht Marina and was so moved I am repeating it here in Kemer. Good luck Sam, and Pete. May your publicity efforts lead quickly to a groundswell of support which will shame the British Government into giving justice to the Chagossians (but I won't hold my breath).
We're currently in Marmaris Yacht Marine and have just been introduced to the monstrous injustice that is the story of the Chagos Islands. All the more troubling in that the principle actors are the government of my own country who do not seem to share any of the values that are held by almost every British person that I know. Even the current administration resists every opportunity to do what is within its powers to put right the wrongs of their predecessors.
We support Sam and his Dad because they are actively raising the profile of this issue and at the same time doing something to give real help to the people of Chagos.
Sam you've touched the hearts of all you've met and you'll be supported every mile of your journey by a veritable virtual navy of well wishers. Bon Voyage.
We really support this venture to further highlight the injustice that has been committed against the people of Chagos. Too often cruisers have talked about these islands as some sort of 'uninhabited' paradise, when its true people have been banned from going home.
We are earning a little money in Wales while Roaring Girl dries out in Provence. After three months exploring and visiting family in New Zealand we will be back afloat in France and Italy from April.

A good way to hilight a good cause. I sailed on Golden Harvest 30 years ago to get world attention on independence for the Namibian people. Now I will add Chagos to list of places to sail to. Fair winds
We met Sam and Ayten in Marmaris Yacht Marina. Great job! Good winds!

May your voyage be successful and the winds kind, it is a noble and just cause.
Thank you for bringing it to the fore.
We are a wildlife tour boat in the Shetland Islands and have good friends in Greenpeace, with whom I worked as a journalist during the Brent Spar and other North Sea campaigns. The plight of the Chagossians is a continuing scandal and an embarrassment to our country. As islanders ourselves we feel particularly acutely for the gross injustices they have suffered for the convenience of the American empire and its British vassal. Good on you, guys, and best of luck with the campaign. Regards, Jonathan Wills, skipper, and Alan Longmuir, mate/engineer

Hi there, in sydney since few months, probably 6 more to do, and then back to France.
Wish you all the best for this !
Berthed at the Wharf Marina 30 miles south of Houston, Tx.
It's time governments started honoring the human rights of people instead of corporations.
Currently anchored off Palma de Maillorca. "It doesn't only need courage to change things but also endurance".
Little people need to stop suffering the consequences of the profit that few Rich Corporate individuals are making.
All the best.

Good luck with it all, let me know if i can do anything for you. Cheers, Slade
The boat is base in Alicante (Spain). Visit Chagos to get information on the situation.
Thanks to Liz & Jamie we learned of the plight of the exiled Chagossians and Sam's & Cindick's brave mission. As Brits, we are shamed by our country's disgraceful actions. Good Luck - we'll be following your progress and hope to see you in the news!
Currently located in Marmaris Yacht Marine
I am a second mate on the Rainbow Warrior. Good job. Thank you.
We are in Yacht Marina, Marmaris, Turkey and after listening to a talk about your plans we had to sign up.
Good luck and good luck to all the people of Chagos.
My location is Netsel Marina until next April.
I am a single female sailing alone with the occasional visit from a friend. I met Sam and Aytan in Malta back in early July and then serendipity brought us back together here in Marmaris.
If I were more courageous and experienced I would sail Free alongside Sam to Chagos! All I can say is my heart goes with you to all the oppressed of Chagos.
We support Sam and his followers wholeheartedly, and wish him the best of luck on his voyage. Presently at Marmaris and helping get Sam out of here on time, our family has embarked on a live aboard life around the Med then maybe the rest of the world. With injustices such as this on Diego Garcia I'm ashamed to fly the British ensign, but maybe we can show a different side of the British people as we travel. Good luck Sam, Pete and all who sail with you!
Currently in the UK recovering from a serious illness, I hope to be back in Antigua in 2008 to refit and carry on.
We left Canada in early October and now we're in the Mediterranean.
I'd like to join the Arctic Sunrise by way of saying thanks to all the crews I've sailed with over the years and also to all the individuals off the ships too who have given support and followed the Chagossian issue over the years. All the conversations and discussions through the night watches, the mad schemes, the ideas. You've kept me going. Kept me from going totally crazy and held my cynicism in check!
Thanks. Hang in there!
Michal and I took the boat 'Reine Des Flots' to land off the River Tamarm UK, some 42 acres we call ELF. We had intended to follow in Rainbow Warriors wake, but four children later, somewhere to grow veggies and stretch all the legs, was more urgent. Smart job Sam and Ayten and smart website Jamie and Liz. Splice the mainbrace me hearties.

Sam is upholding a worthy cause and I, as one, support him. Bravo Sam pour ton travail exceptionnel!
Retired accountant, presently a liveaboard on a beautiful sailboat: the
s/y Lady Jessie, a Sweden Yachts 390. Enjoying a cruise around the Med
before starting off on a circumnavigation. Enjoying the Med so much
that the circumnavigation might take some time.
Thanks for the info on the Chagos Island situation. I had remotely
heard about it but it had not really registred before your push. Very
good that you picked this up; it is a shame on the British nation and
something needs to be done.
We met Sam in Marmaris and are full-time liveaboards on our boat, Esper. After discovering Sam's plan over a couple of drinks in the marina bar we agreed to help Sam by designing this website, taking on some PR tasks and generally maintaining communication with Sam as he continues his journey towards the Indian Ocean.
If you are a Facebook member we positively encourage you to join the group 'Justice for Chagossians'. Also we recommend you get a copy of the 'Stealing A Nation' documentary by John Pilger as it is an excellent introduction to the Chagossian problem.
